M43rds Civil war: GF1 vs E-P1 at Q

This is not a traditional review, but a lot of photographers interested in the E-P1 and GF1 will likely find it extremely useful - Spanish website Quesabesde.com has posted a long comparison between the GF1 and E-P1, including both picture-comparisons and body-comparisons.

There are quite a few picture comparisons, using the same scene and taken with each camera. They also alternated pancake lenses, so you have GF1 + 17mm pancake and E-P1 + 20mm pancake.

And they didn't want to disappoint the pixel-peepers, so they included a complete ISO-series comparison between the two cameras :)

Olympus E-P1 review finalized by IR

The time has come and the Olympus E-P1 review at Imaging Resource has been finalized. There was a reason for the delay, and IR explains it in the review introduction.

As usual, we won't spoil the findings here, but if you are in a hurry, they are towards the bottom of the main review page.

The E-P1 is generally available in both kits and has resisted price drops. As far as we can tell, none of the well-known reputable retailers offered the kits for less than $800 and $900 respectively. You can see them all at Amazon.

Gearlog restests E-P1 autofocus with firmware update

Gearlog, the gadget blog of the PC Magazine publishing empire, has just published the results of their autofocus testing of the Olympus E-P1 using the new firmware. In their estimate, there isn't much improvement. They used Mikkel Aaland's flash widget as part of their testing.

However, please keep in mind this is not a hardcore camera-review-site, so they do not test the same way dpreview would.

New E-P1 review in New Zealand magazine (print)

Print photography magazine D-Photo in New Zealand includes a review of the Olympus E-P1 in their latest print issue (issue #32) that has just gone out and covers the months of October/November 2009. As far as we can tell, this review is not available online.

Akihabara News posts a short E-P1 review

The Olympus E-P1 review-fest continues today with Japanese-based tech-blog Akihabara News posting their take on the camera! No spoilers here, the review is short enough you can inhale it quickly!

They have made available full-size samples on their flickr page.

Short E-P1 review at PhotoRadar

There is a new short Olympus E-P1 review posted at the Photo Radar website. This is a single-page review without samples, by Rod Lawton, a reviewer familiar with readers of UK magazines and websites. The review appears to be a reprint from the "Digital Camera" magazine.

Stuff (New Zealand) reviews the E-P1

Stuff.co.nz, an award winning New Zealand website, not to be confused with the mens/gadget magazine Stuff, has published a one-page review of the Olympus E-P1 on their website. This is an experiential review based on the reviewer's perspective, it is not a dpreview-style elaborate-a-thon.
