And some good news on the pricing front, the black G1 kit (w/14-45mm) has now dropped to $622 at Amazon, sold and shipped by Amazon. Or if you want to buy from third-party sellers, you can get it for $576 from 3rd-party seller "6ave".

The Churchill Photographer has posted a multi-part review of the Panasonic G1 on his blog. You can see all the parts at the index page. The conclusions are on the verdict tab for those who are too busy to read through the whole review. This is a 34-page technical evaluation, with conclusions on page #33. The commentary there, and the list of pros and cons is long, but in the end, the camera won over the reviewers enough to merit the highly coverted "Highly Recommended".
